Ancient Hackney - Dedicated to the history and symbolism of Ancient Hackney. Passing centuries brought many changes to the area and in 2012 the Olympic Games was staged in Hackney. Its no coincidence the site is placed in the middle of the most powerful leylines running around the world connecting with numerous sacred locations including Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Britain, Israel, and Egypt. To learn more about the Olympic site please watch Rik Clay's (RIP) film (posted here).

Hackney - Man Hole Covers (Coal)
There was a time when all houses in London burned coal to keep their homes serviced with warmth and hot water. Many Victoria houses in Hackney still have the outside manhole covers which allowed the coal to be deliver straight into the coal storage area in the cellar. Years ago the council actually sealed the manholes up and replaced the covers. Whilst walking along Cassland RD this week i noticed a terraced row of houses still had some of the original covers. Behind Cassland Road almost directly behind the houses where i took the following photos is Well Street Common. I will posting photos of the sun worshiping temple on the common in future post but for now here are the covers...
